Although nurses throughout Australia have reported high levels of job satisfaction, the trials of the last year have had a cost; with many nursing staff reporting extreme stress levels, risk of burnout from long and unsociable hours, and increased feelings of anxiety and depression; alongside dissatisfaction with pay that is often not in line with the cost of living in Australia’s cities. Training in medical aesthetics has become increasingly popular amongst nurses not only in Australia but worldwide; as nurses find careers in aesthetic injectables to not only be more lucrative but also just as fulfilling as traditional nursing.
With a wealth of experience in working closely with patients, nurses are perfectly placed for success in the aesthetics industry, because:
Nurses have a variety of experience in minor procedures such as blood draws and cannula placement.
Nurses are skilled injectors used to administering to a variety of patients.
Nurses have experience in working directly with patients.
Nurses are accustomed to handling complications in a range of settings, whether in hospitals, medical practices, or in the community
Nurses are accustomed to working with patients post-treatment.
Although there is an initial cost to training in aesthetic injectables, the benefits of this training can be vast. MATA graduates from nursing have reported that training in anti-wrinkle and dermal fillers has:
Increased their earning potential, to the point where some have left traditional nursing all together to focus solely on aesthetic practice.
Given them a level of independence in their work in a less stressful environment.
Allowed them to spend a greater amount of one-on-one time with clients, which is often impossible in traditional nursing.
Given them the skills they need to work in established aesthetic clinics or even start their own businesses.
Provided a better work / life balance as the need to work long or antisocial hours decreases.

MATA’s training in aesthetic injectables is currently conducted from Sydney’s beautiful Surry Hills, although we aim to expand training locations to other cities in Australia over the next year.
We believe that MATA Training Courses provide nurses with the skills and knowledge needed to launch a successful career in aesthetic medicine, whether within established clinics or through self-employment. Here’s what some of our graduates have to say about their experiences with MATA:
I went on the foundation Botox and filler course and I can honestly say it was the best money I spent for my aesthetics business! Apul is an incredible wealth of knowledge and puts you at ease to inject and the day is packed from start to finish with so many models to inject. I highly highly recommend anyone interested in pursuing aesthetics to do the course and carry on to do the level 7
I was looking online for an academy for Anti-Wrinkle and dermal fillers training and found MATA. I registered for both the foundation and advanced courses in January 2020. The experience was amazing. The online learning modules are so helpful. The trainers (Amy, Sarah Louise & Semira) are so helpful and nice. MATA courses are highly recommended due to the professionalism (Lectures, hands-on, trainers, etc)
I attended the advanced Anti-Wrinkle and Filler course last weekend and have to say it was worth every penny from start to finish. The whole team are professional yet friendly. Mr. Apul is an incredible instructor. He allowed me to build on my previous skills and experience as well as learning new techniques in a relaxed environment. I was very glad I made the journey and would highly recommend M.A.T.A.
"Such a great couple of days learning all about injectables with very knowledgeable, experienced and professional trainers. Very well organised as well. Highly recommended!"
